Fluterrific, Vancouver, Canada

Vancouver flute ensemble Fluterrific was created by Michelle Carlisle.  Under her direction, the musical repertoire of Fluterrific ranges from Classical and Chamber music to Renaissance and Modern, as well as Celtic, Latin, American spirituals, jazz, plus contemporary and Broadway musical tunes, too.  For Christmas, the arrangements include traditional Christmas carols and well-known holiday songs.

The sound of flutes together is joyous, powerful and uplifting.

Fluterrific performs at weddings, conventions, private parties, concerts, seniors' centres, art galleries and boutiques, shopping malls ~ anywhere a string quartet could play. Musical arrangements can be designed for virtually any piece of music to especially suit an event.

Fluterrific brought elegance to the Surrey Museum’s Queen Tea. It was a perfect musical addition to the event – they played a  fabulous mix of music with many well-known classics. The best part was seeing children pirouette to the sugar plum fairy song. I hope to have Fluterrific play at our upcoming special events.   - Drew LaJeunesse, Community Services Assistant, City of Surrey

The Richmond Art Gallery was very fortunate to have "Fluterrific" perform at its Family Sunday Event in February 2013.Family Sunday is a unique and well-attended event that occurs on the fourth Sunday every month except December. The families were delighted to be able to listen to beautiful and recognizable music performed by three talented flute musicians while they created art. Families hummed along to the tunes and applauded with glee. Thank you to "Fluterrific" for a wonderful performance.  - Mona Lochan, Family Sunday Facilitator, Richmond Art Gallery
