Michelle has been a member of local Celtic group Blackthorn since 1994.  During this time, she has performed as flute/whistle/piccolo/fife player as well as both lead vocalist and backup vocals on four recordings, as well as specialty releases such as “A Magical History Tour” (Fort Langley National Historic Site).

With Blackthorn, Michelle has toured extensively and performed all around BC, Washington, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and even Missouri.

Michelle’s original compositions have been recorded and performed by Blackthorn, receiving airplay on CBC as well as several different local radio stations.  Most recently, Michelle's single "Open Skies" recorded with Blackthorn has been added to iTunes and available for download.

Blackthorn has appeared on live media performances as well, “Breakfast TV” for an example, as well as the unique one-time event at the Van Dusen Gardens in July 2007 for the release of the final Harry Potter book.. this event was attended by over 7,000 people. Performances include many concerts, festivals, highland games, weddings, funerals, pirate ships, and more.
